Q: What about Marshall McLuhan as a Canadian?
Is there an identifiable Canadian school of
communications? Do you think that the context of
Canada actually was involved in shaping
McLuhan’s thought?
A: I think he was truly Canadian, if we can even
begin to define that. In as much as he was an
Anglophile and had a kind of loyalist temperament.
He loved everything English. You know he went to
