  1. Q:  What about Marshall McLuhan as a Canadian? 
  2. Is there an identifiable Canadian school of 
  3. communications? Do you think that the context of 
  4. Canada actually was involved in shaping 
  5. McLuhan‚Äôs thought?

  7. A:  I think he was truly Canadian, if we can even 
  8. begin to define that. In as much as he was an 
  9. Anglophile and had a kind of loyalist temperament. 
  10. He loved everything English. You know he went to 
  11. Cambridge and he was on the light eight rowing 
  12. team and so forth. He was very pro-Anglo Saxon in 
  13. a lot of his attitudes, but because basically, he 
  14. loved the English language so much. On the other
